The HTC Honors College and Center for Interdisciplinary Studies is home to innovative interdisciplinary programs that allow Coastal Carolina University students to explore the range of academic opportunities the university has to offer, while encouraging them to pursue their passions and hone their skills and talents. We work with three amazing groups of students, all of whom are exploring and studying in the 90+ academic programs here at Coastal Carolina University: honors students, interdisciplinary studies majors, and our exploring, undeclared freshmen.
Our honors students develop expertise in a traditional academic major while they are engaged in innovative interdisciplinary research and creative inquiry as part of their honors coursework. Students in our interdisciplinary studies program design their own academic major, selecting courses from departments across campus that center around a compelling question or issue. Finally, we enjoy working with first-year students who are undeclared and exploring the wide variety of undergraduate degree programs we offer here at CCU. What all of our students have in common is that they are connected to colleges, departments and programs across campus, and we do everything we can to support each of them as they progress in their degree programs and work toward graduation.
In addition to honors, interdisciplinary studies and our first-year student programming, the HTC Honors College and Center for Interdisciplinary Studies also supports the Women's and Gender Studies program, the environmental studies minor, the Women in Technology Graduate Certificate, and the sustainability and gerontology certificate programs.
Please reach out if you have questions about any of our programs. We would love to hear from you!
